These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to every competition advertised on this website (the “Competitions”). If there is any inconsistency between these Terms and any promotional material, advertisement, or information shown on the Website, these Terms will prevail. To qualify for entry, participants (“Entrants”) must correctly answer a skill-based question or solve a task set by the Promoter (the “Competition Question”). Every competition includes a Competition Question and requires payment of an entry fee unless a free entry method is specifically made available.
Entry into every competition is conditional on correctly answering a skill-based question before checkout is completed. If your answer is wrong, you may try again. These are skill-based competitions, not lotteries or games of chance: correctly answering the skill question is a genuine qualifying requirement that every entrant must satisfy, and success depends on the entrant’s own knowledge and judgement.
Each competition opens and closes on the dates and times displayed on the Website (the “Opening Date” and “Closing Date”). All times are based on London, England time. We reserve the right to amend these dates whenever reasonably necessary, and any changes will be shown on the Website. Entries must be received before the Closing Date; except where otherwise stated, late entries will not be accepted and no refund will be issued. Each competition may have a maximum number of entries, and a maximum number of entries per Entrant, both shown on the relevant competition page. To enter through the paid method: select the competition, submit your answer to the Competition Question, choose the number of entries you wish to purchase, proceed to checkout, log in or create an account, accept these Terms, and complete payment. Once your entry has been submitted successfully, we will send confirmation of receipt. We accept no responsibility for failed, delayed, incomplete, or lost entries caused by technical problems, equipment failures, software issues, server interruptions, or similar circumstances. By purchasing or submitting an entry, whether free or paid, you confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements, that you are entering into a binding agreement with the Promoter, and that you agree to comply with these Terms.
You may enter any competition free of charge by post, with no purchase necessary. Full instructions, the postal address, and the information your entry must include are set out on our Postal Entry Route page. Free postal entries are treated equally to paid online entries and have the same chance of winning. Hand-delivered entries will not be accepted, proof of postage is not proof of delivery or of entry, and you must hold an active account on this website with details that match those provided with your entry.
Competitions are open to individuals aged 18 or older, excluding employees of the Promoter, individuals professionally associated with administering the competitions, and their immediate family or household members. By entering, you confirm that you are legally eligible to participate and to claim any prize; proof of eligibility may be requested. Entries generated automatically or submitted incompletely will not be accepted. We reserve the right to disqualify any Entrant whose conduct is abusive, dishonest, or inconsistent with the intended spirit of the competition. Except where otherwise stated, entry fees are non-refundable, including where an Entrant later discovers they are ineligible, the eligibility criteria change, or the Entrant is disqualified. Fraudulent activity, hacking, tampering with the Website, misuse of system code, or deceptive conduct may result in cancellation of all entries, refusal of refunds, and exclusion from future competitions.
All correct entries are placed into a random draw, and a winner is selected within 7 days of the Closing Date. Entrants’ names and entry numbers may be displayed on a spreadsheet visible during live draws or on the Website; anyone wishing to remain anonymous must email contact@hollycompetition.com at least 48 hours before the draw. Winners and, in some cases, unsuccessful participants may receive automated email notifications at the address provided during entry. Any person selected to receive a prize is referred to as a “Winner.”
Prize details for each competition are described on the Website and are believed to be accurate at the time the competition opens. We may substitute a prize with an alternative of equal or greater value if necessary. While reasonable efforts are made to describe prizes accurately, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or condition of any prize information. Unless stated otherwise, prizes are not exchangeable for cash, although we may offer a cash alternative at our discretion. Prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Where the prize is a vehicle: a valid MOT will be provided where legally required; insurance is not included; road tax is not included unless stated otherwise; responsibility for the vehicle transfers to the Winner upon delivery; and the Winner must ensure they are legally licensed and properly equipped to operate the vehicle safely.
Our decisions regarding all competitions are final. Winners will usually be contacted within 7 days of the draw date using the contact details provided. If a Winner cannot be reached or fails to claim the prize within 14 days, we may select another eligible winner, reallocate the prize, or dispose of it as we reasonably see fit. We may publish the Winner’s name and winning number on the Website to demonstrate that a legitimate award has taken place; anyone objecting must contact us before the Closing Date, although information may still need to be provided to regulators where legally required. We may withhold or cancel a prize if we reasonably believe that the Winner breached these Terms or was otherwise ineligible.
Prizes must be claimed directly by the Winner unless otherwise agreed by us. Entrants are responsible for keeping their contact information accurate and up to date. Cash prizes will only be transferred to a bank account belonging to, or jointly held by, the Winner, and supporting evidence may be requested. Failure to provide required documentation within 14 days may result in forfeiture of the prize. We are not liable if a Winner cannot or chooses not to accept a prize.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for losses, injuries, damages, or claims arising from participation in a competition or use of a prize, except where caused by our negligence. We are not responsible for failed or delayed entries, technical issues or service interruptions, unauthorised access to entries, internet or network failures, or misuse of a prize by a Winner.
Personal information supplied during entry will only be used in accordance with applicable data protection laws and our Privacy Policy. Winners may have their name, image, and general location used for promotional purposes relating to the competition; Winners who do not wish to take part in publicity should notify us before the competition closes. Winners may need to provide additional identification documents before prizes can be transferred or awarded. If an Entrant requests removal of their data before the competition concludes, they may be withdrawn from the competition because we will no longer be able to contact them.
We may revise these Terms at any time, and the most recent version will always appear on the Website. Any breach of these Terms may result in disqualification from current or future competitions. We may suspend, cancel, modify, or void a competition if circumstances beyond our reasonable control make this necessary; in such cases, entry fees may be refunded. Competitions will proceed regardless of how many entries are received unless otherwise stated. Competitions are not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by any social media platform, which bears no responsibility for them. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and participants agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
